When the Prototype Studio received the new Microsoft Hololens, we were eager to begin to develop and understand its capabilities. We wanted to enhance a known medium by bringing it into an AR environment. The concept was having a physical book become more special when viewed with the Hololens. We picked The Little Prince as our source material as it had wonderful imagery and coincidentally a movie release directed by Mark Osborne. Using image recognition on specific pages, the Hololens would bring scenes to life in your room. These interactive moments would be an an exciting extension to the 2-D book.
